Aside from scenery and help triggers, this level is DONE. So, by the end of the day, I had finished a fairly long and sexy level. Since I already had the map split, I decided to keep what I had and cleverly place interiors so the challenges were easier. When I SPLIT THE MAP and converted it looked like a big mess of peices, which later I discovered that I stupidly placed the same interior three times in the same location.Īll that fixed, I began the usual LE work and while screwing around I found that two of the challenges were impossible/close to impossible. When all that was done I finally converted it. When that was done, I suddenly felt the need to extend the level to make it mid-advanced (was originally early-intermediate) so I did. Of course, when I did convert it, there was a ton of texturing errors that were too annoying to leave alone, so I fixed those and adjusted a few other parts. I ended up resizing this to make it 4x smaller and resized it ingame.

I had a humugous brush in there, I split it into multiple parts and it still wouldn't work. So I converted the level, just to get that annoying lightmap error. By then I was so tired of it that I tried a different trimming technique that made life easier. It started out with a retexture from Marble Blast Platinum (as the level was originally made for it) which was an annoying process of retexturing, resizing, fixing old stuff, yada yada. I spent the whole day (with the exception of the few hours I ate/did chores) working on my latest level.

I'm going to kick this off with a quick overview of what happened today. I'm going to make it epicly awesome, which is something that a lot of people can't do. It had to be done anyway, so why not today? Now that I have some decent Paint.NET skills, I have started a quest to replace those cruddy cooltexts.Īll that aside, I got a lot done today, so I'm satisfied with myself. However, I am ashamed of myself for being that lazy to take graphics from other places than to learn to make my own. It's not that it's illegal, cooltext allows their graphics to be used in any way, commercial or noncommercial. I seriously regret using it in the first place. That's right, I previously used generated graphics from, quite constantly in fact. Hopefully I can rid of all graphics sometime soon. what the heck? No clue what went wrong there, so I set that aside for another day. It was all the same size and everything, so. The only frustration I had (which was thankfully a small one) was that I had made a pretty glow_bounce texture, but in-game it looked smaller than the marble, and a bit squigglier than it should be. By the end of the day, Elite was filled with prettier gems, shiny pause menus, and improvements of textures that should've been changed a looooong time ago. Later I spent my time fixing some graphics. Without internet connection on my 7 (which I use for everything not speedrunning/Constructor) I was fixing up little stuff, such as grammar mistakes, misalignments, etc. Today was one of those days where you get a ton done but it's hard to tell. Moving platforms work 5% of the time for me, but a year old one? Wow.

As I was placing items/messing around, I triggered a moving platform that I COMPLETELY forgot about. I fixed up the level, and converted the textures into Elite ones (which was way easier that I expected) and I was totally not expecting the level to convert properly, as there were little curvies everywhere. The beautiful level I made a year ago was there! I couldn't believe my eyes! I came across a file titled "CC.csx" I would normally ignore this, as there was a level abbreviated CC already in the game. However, just this night, I was scrolling through my Interiors folder, looking back at old levels I made. Throughout the course of a whole year, I did at least 5 full-computer searches to find the. The level seemed to disappear off my computer. I guess it was alright, since LotY was a fail anyway.Ībout a month later I decided to fix it up and release it. Unfortunately, I couldn't complete the level on-time, as I kept feeling urged to extend the level. I was rushing to get this level done so I could make a last-minute entry for Level of the Year. Something totally awesome just happened to me and I'm eager to share it. actually yesterday, but it was too late to blog so yeah.
